Photographer's Note

Here's another shot taken in the magnificent, dramatic, and mysterious land of the Burrens.

The Burren region is located in the western Ireland. The land is full of contradictions. It looks very harsh, sometimes even bears some resemblance to the moon. The surface is full of rocks and at first sight it seems nothing can grow there. Compare here.
When the chief of Cromwell's army entered the area in 1600s, he wrote a message to his principal describing the Burren:
'It is a country where there is not water enough to drown a man, wood enough to hang one, nor earth enough to bury him'
Well, nice remarks, aren't they?:-)
the Burren, however harsh it looks, is has very fertile soil. It's unbelievable, but plants from almost all the world's regions grow there, thanks to its islandic location and winds.

In the photo, there's the Burren's coastline. I included a silhuette of a person to emphasise its majesty.
