Photographer's Note
At the time of my visit to Naples, many parts of the famous Galleria Umberto I were covered with constructions. This view towards its famous ceiling made me think of a spider web but then again I realized that if I mention a spider web in the context of Naples one may think of the Camorra, Neapolitan Mafia. According to the Lonely Planet guidebook, Camorra is the most “successful” among all Italian mafias. I felt quite safe in Naples though.
This year was quite adventurous for me: at first a visit in Ukraine which is still in the state of war, and now the centre of Italian Mafia. It sounds like looking for trouble.

Hi Mariusz,
I love your note - now you're living life to the full, visiting war zones and mixing with the Mafia! But at least you're now home safe and sound! :)
Of course, I've seen photographs of this Galleria before - chiefly from Lisa (delpeoples) - but your photograph here is taken from yet another different viewpoint, now looking upwards to create a sensational and most appealing composition with the intricate glass ceiling resembling, as you say, a complex yet beautiful spider's web.
The light on the stone façade and also in the ceiling itself is beautifully soft, the colours rich and your exposure perfect. And the details and sharpness are, as always, exquisite.
Thank you for sharing this lovely photograph.
Beautiful!
Kind Regards,
John.

Same style built as the Galleria we saw in Milano, Mariusz - but still offers a wonderful photos-opportunities.
Excellent upwards POV, used well the outside light through.
Thanks for your supporting critique, have a nice new day,

Hi Mariusz
glad you were able to visit this place, beautiful isn't?! I loved taking photos here. And even though it was under construction you were still able to get an awesome photo.
love seeing the building facade, then the spider webs spread out all over the place. By the way, I don't see you as a man looking for trouble hahaha. cheers

Hello, Mariusz!
Interesting comparison of the ceiling with a spider web, and the graphical effect it creates in the photo is also very nice! Beautiful architectural details! Wonderful composition!

Hello Mariusz,
Great photo of this beautiful roof structure, it really is a very elaborate spider web. It almost looks as if the large dome bends inwards for some reason. You included the façade in the foreground very well too.

Swietne zdjecie z tej znanej galerii w Neapolu. Szeroki kat daje pojecie jak to wyglada w rzeczywistosci. Swietna jakosc jak zwykle... gdybys spotkal mafie podczas wycieczki na Ukraine to i owszem byloby sie czego bac ;-)

Hi Mariusz
I do hope that you also visited the incredible archaeological museum just behind the gallery. Naples is worth the visit for this alone, despite it getting some bad press for the traffic and curt locals. Wonderful straight up view with intricate spider web like patterns. Tfs!

Hello Mariusz
I hope you will take care of yourself and won’t be captured in a spider web full of danger 😉
But I have the same experience this summer where we visited some places in Yosemite Park and Las Vegas which were some time later world-new for accidents and violence. And it was so peaceful when we walked there.
Great picture of this fascinating spider web of the “Araneae Camorra”
Have a nice day. Groet Rob

Hello Marius,
You always engage us with your notes as well as your photographs!
This is an unusual but a most effective viewpoint, giving a strong sense of the vertical but ending in these circular windows which certainly remind one of spiders' webs. The main window, in the dome, spreads like a huge web, strong and threatening! It is strongly supported by the surrounding 'webs' creating the sense of a community.
Do you find your perception keeps changing?
One minute it is convex, then the next concave!
Have a good w/e,
Bev :-)

Hello Mariusz, an excellent view looking up to the intricate pattern of this glass ceiling.
I like the symmetry of the shot.
The façade also has some interesting features.
Tell me, did you lie down on the ground to get this impressive shot?
Interesting note.

Hello Mariusz,
The Galleria Umberto I is surely one of the most grandiose and beautiful galleries in the world.
An excellent view upwards presented in a very attractive composition.
Good light management.
Over more than 30 years ago I visited Napoli. My memories are already a little faded but I do remember that I didn't feel unsafe anywhere.
Best regards, Paul

Hello Mariusz.
Apotheosis POV, which shows us totally, the wonderful glassed-in dome, of the central part of this fantastic galleries, also the detail of this façade gives the idea of the richness of the constructions of it.
Very nice color, which together with the good quality and optimal lighting, gives great quality to the image.
Well done. I like very much
Have a good start to the week.
Very best regards
Luis.

This is another stunner you've posted, Mariusz. Superb pov. I like how from this pov it's not clear whether the center of the dome is furthest away or closest. Of course, I know it is furthest, but still...you can't tell really... Great!

Dear Mariusz!
Well done!
PS. Ta, większość moich zdjęć na TE to HDR.
