Photographer's Note

One of the more challenging places to take pictures. This is the famous Blue cave of Capri.
The challenges include very low light + constantly moving and rocking platform + time constraints

Had to go with ISO 1600, result was not too bad. Did not want to use flash so the amazing water color will stay as it is.

All in all, I am quite happy with the results.
The image shows the small entrance to the cave. Future visits will depend on global warming and rising sea levels...

The place is stunning!

Hi Shir,

You've done really well to get this level of sharpness in such difficult conditions. The water is absolutely incredible, it looks more like blue paint than water! Do you know what makes it so blue? Surely it is not reflections from the sky because you are in a cave but what else?...

Good composition allowing the blue to cover as much of the frame as you could but still showing the procession of boats waiting to get in. Is it a big cave?

A good note too explaining your photographic challenge but a bit more information on the location would be nice as I am intrigued by this place. Great photo, Shir - I'm surprised it has received only one other critique so far.

Hi Shir,
Its been viewed so many times and yet so few comments......strange.It certainly seems to be an amazing place.You did a great job with the conditions and its quality doesn't seem to have been affected by the high ISO.Can't get much bluer than that.Not so sure if I would have got through that little hole!
