Photographer's Note

Last night (24th december)I finished working at 2am (so already 25). I wasn't tired so I went around taking pictures of the streets of my beautiful city (one of my beautiful cities, because I feel I belong to a lot of places - for many reasons, though often for the same ones).
Rome is always full of traffic and to take photos of empty streets it needs to be late at night or very early in the morning.
This year (as in the last couple of years) there aren't that many nicely lit up streets. This is because the economic crisis hitting Italy is rather hard, especially on small, family-run shops, ehich make up 95% of rom'e shops. These are the people who pay for the street-lights, and one can tell if business is good, by how many streets are lit up at christmas.
Anyway i spent from 2am to 4 am, driving around taking pictures of the city untill it started raining, and overall, I had a great christmas night! (will post more....)
This picture i took it out of focus since it made the whole thing look much fuller and interesting (and artistic may i add, if am not too pompous!!!??!!) than when I took it in focus. I hope you like it. I haven't touched it in the least, it's exactly as my darling camera took it.
Happy xmas
