Photographer's Note
Belated congratulations to Italy for winning the 2006 World Cup, I have no shortage of cliches, this is another oft photographed place, but this is the first large post panorama on this site. 4 landscape format images combined, somewhat unsuccessfully, there was one more at left side, but that one really really failed. The large version (visible to signed in members only) includes more on the right side.

Hello Tan,
I think this panorama is very nice! I like the high POV looking down on the harbor. The colors are great, and so are all the small boats dotting the water. I also like the shape of the land jutting out, with the lovely houses on it. Maybe the lighting is slightly out of sync on the right side, but it is still a great image.

I like the sweeping curve of the boats in the harbour and of course the deep blue colour. The different colour and contrast of the shots gives this a strange look, especially between the two frames on the right. Wonderful panorama anyways, and as you say, not represented this way on TE. Well done!

Bonjour Tan
un panorama excellent avec un POV qui permet de dominer la scène. La version large est d'une grande qualité. J'aime beaucoup les couleurs et la courbe données par les façades des maisons.
Bravo

Hi Tan,
this is quite a spectacular pano of a very famous place, really worth to be shown on TE! The only problem is the different light on the right but it's still a great view.

Hi Tan,
The panorama format really works here and concentrates one's attention on the waterway activity, with the eye sweeping from left to right to follow in the wake of the lead boat. The tones and hues are mesmerizing. I especially like the arcing sweep of colourful buildings on the waterfront with all the little boats lined up near the shore. Crisp, clear and full of vitality. Well captured.

Hi Tan - the viewpoint is excellent for this type of image. The colours are good, it's just unfortunate that there's a slight problem with the light to the right of the image but it's not too bad & the overall effect of the panorama is good. Nice work!

Hej Tan,
A nice view over the green hills of this place. The buildings in front and the harbour looks lovely, a very nice atmosphere here. All the boats on the very blue water are a good bonus. Very well captured!

The distorsion is OK here to create a great effect... I almost can see the shape of the earth ;=). A good combination despite some light problem.

What a view Tan...phenomenal panorama...the large format is quite exquisite...What I like most is the arc formed by the boats following the shoreline with the wonderfully coloured houses, againat the deep blue sea...& your perspective, as always with you, is fantastic

Great job and well captured, however some of the stitching isn't exact. I suffer the same problem too, mainly due to lighting i guess. Which panoramic stitching program do you use?
Looks like a beautiful place.

This is a great sweeping view of Portofino and down to Santa Margherita. It really gives you a sense of being there and makes me nostalgic for walking around in that area. It would be nice to see you work on the stiching just a little bit more to make it more seamless. There is some banding that detracts from the overall aesthetic just a bit.

Hi Captain, you're right it isn't the best stitched picture but the panorama portraid here is absolutely gorgeous. The POV is simply spetacular. I can't remember any place so high in Portofino that gives the overview of it all. Hmm, I guess I will have to go back and check it out and take this time my camera with me.
Regards, Peter
