Sunset in Florence, a photo from Florence, Tuscany

Photographer's Note

Here you can see three of river Arno's Bridges. Starting from back to front there is Ponte alla Carraia, Ponte Santa Trinita, and the bridge of the beautiful jewelry shops, a jewel of its own, Ponte Vecchio (Old Bridge). Ponte Vecchio was the only not to be blown up by the Nazis in 1944, when they were abbandoning the city. It was constructed by Neri de Fioravanti, who in 1348 substituted the wooden one destroyed by the flood of 1333. The bridge was in danger one more time when the flood of 1966 covered big part of the city.

This photo is also taken from Piazzale Michelangelo a few minutes before my other photo "Rennaisance sky"

Amazing silouettes, Hercules! The golden colour of the Arno water is fantastic, as is the reflection of Ponte Veccio.

Hi Hercules, I really like this photo. Great colour, with very subtle hues of gold. The best part of the photo are the reflections of the elegant arches. A minor criticism is that the front left part of the photo may be a little bit too dark, but that may just be my monitor. Nice one! Regards,

Excellent use of the zoom lens to compress the layers of building and enlarge the sun.

Beautiful sillhoettes on the river.

The light o the river and the sun balance very well across the frame.

Μου αρέσουν αυτά τα σκοτεινά πλάνα, με τον ήλιο να προσπαθεί να δώσει τις τελευταίες ακτίνες του πριν καταπιεί τον κόσμο το σκοτάδι...

Muy bello atardecer en tu foto, con una luz y unos colores muy cálidos y sugerentes.
Me gustan los tonos del cielo que parece ardiendo, con el sol aún un poco alto, y cómo el contraluz que crea deja la ciudad en penumbra. En contraste, el río capta los reflejos del cielo y parece de oro.
Fantástica, muy, muy bella.

Primero vi esta foto en el ordenador de la redacción de mi televisión. Me pareció demasiado oscura la parte de la ciudad. AHora la he vuelto a ver en mi casa y me gusta muchísimo más porque compruebo que sí se puede ver la ciudad. Además en su justo punto. Es una foto muy hermosa, con un manejo de la luz formidable. Es un anochecer, pero no uno de tantos. Enhorabuena.

Φανταστικη εκτελεση Ηρακλη.Πολυ ομορφο ηλιοβασιλεμα με αντανακλαση στο νερο,αυτο που κανει την μεγαλη διαφορα ειναι ο τροπος που φαινεται η πολη στο σκοταδι.Παρα πολυ καλη Ηρακλη,Συγχαρητηρια!

¡qué luz tan extraordinaria! Y no lo digo sólo por este rojo intenso del cielo, lo digo porque tamiza toda la ciudad, de modo que a pesar del fuerte contraste, ésta no queda oscura (buen dominio de la iluminación). Sobre la llamarada en que se ha convertido el Arno, los puentes muestran toda su belleza, especialmente il Ponte Vecchio. Bonito juego de luces y sombras y de curvas y rectas. Muy bella imagen, Hercules. Gracias, y un saludo.

Buen manejo de la exposición para mostrar el sol en todo su esplender. Me encanta el detalle del color del rio está genial.
La composición es un gran detonante para hacer una buena toma ya que se parecia toda la ciudad con sus bellos puentes.

Me gusta mucho esta foto, especialmente por la manera de mostrar Florencia a través de siluetas (creo que no había visto antes algo así).

El color del cielo y la luz reflejada en el Arno son una maravilla!

La composición y encuadre también están muy bien, creo que has acertado con la elección de la distancia focal.

Pero por encima de todas esas consideraciones técnicas... la foto es hermosa!!!

The colours are blindingly beautiful & the silhouettes are amazing. the Ponte Vecchio stands out even in silhouette! The Arno has taken the colour of molten metal. Simply wonderful!

This is a lovely one. Magical colours in the sky, also like the position and sharpness of the sun in the whole thing. Clever composed with the light reflected on the river/canal with the bridges on the right side, and the sun on the left side, to give so balance on the places of interest.
Reflections on some parts of the city are nice, also the towers of church you can see. It's cool to see a car driving in the lower center.
Good depth. Nice hills in the distance.
Just would like the city a bit brighter, so that more details would be visible, but except for that, this is a very good shot to me!
