The Leaning Tower of Pisa
As I start I finish start my little reportage from Pisa with one of the most famous and photographed Italian monuments in the world, the bell tower of the cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta, better known as the tower of Pisa. I tried to straighten it out a bit, but not easy. The works for its construction began in 1173 but lasted for more than 2 centuries precisely because of its inclination, which manifested itself from the beginning. The tower is in fact on a sandy ground and began to hang from the third floor, so much so that the construction then continued in the opposite direction to the slope to prevent it from tilting even more. The inclination has been going on for many years, up to the renovations that ended in 2002 (the year of its reopening), and is now stable at 5%. If you don't suffer from vertigo like me, you can climb the 294 steps to reach the top of the belfry, 56 meters high and enjoy a spectacular view.

Ciao Silvio!
A daring photo: you portrayed the tower WITHOUT inclination. This is possible, of course, you just have to select an appropriate POV. So why is there a permanent pilgrimage, especially by physicists who claim that Galileo Galilei dropped some apples, thus describing a motion with constant acceleration by equations!
BTW: Nice light!

Hello Silvio
An original idea to photograph the famous leaning tower from this side and thus give the illusion that the tower is not at all leaning.
Beautiful sharp photo with beautiful vivid colours.
Excellent work
Have a good weekend, groet Rob

Hi Silvio,
The presence of the persons has an effect of scale. The point of view is showing the details of the Pisa Tower. The colors and the sharpness are very good. Have a nice day.

Ha! Ha! caro Silvio, you have removed the slant that makes this tower so famous! People will think it is a fake!
But never mind, the details of the many arches, on the repeating layers, are all present and sharply shown.
It really is an iconic feature and makes it well worth the trip to Pisa.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Olá Silvio,
a famosa torre inclinada de Pisa, que para nós, via Photoshop, um problema fácil de ser corrigido, haha.
Abraço,

Silvio, the Pisa tower looks less leaning in this view due to the image processing. The blue cloudy sky forms a beautiful background. Two couples came to the city to admire the monument closer. Fine colors, good sharpness, instructive photo note, regards.

Hello Silvio,
From this angle the famous tower doesn't seem to be leaning that much. Superb sharpness and clarity and the sunlight was wonderful, also creating a nice play of light and shadows around all the pillars and arches.

Bonjour, cher ami Silvio,
Les architectes ont fait un travail remarquable pour relever la Tour de cette façon.
Nous avons l'impression qu'elle est pratiquement droite.
Note intéressant comme d'habitude.
Très bonne journée.
Amitiés.

The tower itself is beautiful, and although it is called the "leaning tower", you are a very talented architect who put it straight :)

Hello, Silvio!
The famous tower captured with excellent light and colors, and with the people as scale to the image, I see that it's not so big as I thought it was. Wonderful composition! Very nice job!

Ciao Silvio
Ha ha, you corrected the tilt. It's not quite the leaning tower of Pisa anymore! Good sharpness and the 2 couples either side add symmetry. Tfs!

I climbed it. I had no intention to do that, but had no lines when I arrived there and I climbed the famous tower. here you let it exactly like it was created, with no tilt. haha.
take care

Hello Silvio,
This POV pretty much hides the lean, too. I would not see it if I weren't expecting it. 👍🏻👍🏻
