Piazza del Mercato - Spoleto
Already square of the forum, trade and commerce center in Roman times, the crossroads of Cardo Maximo (Via dei Duchi / Via Arco di Druso) and Decumano (Via del Municipio / Via del Mercato) has for centuries been the heart of the city, Main square and outdoor market.
In Roman times they faced the square, much wider than today, the Capitolium, the Basilica, located on the side where today is the monumental fountain, opposite the Arc de Druso and Germanic, and a temple, of which remains immense remains.
In the Middle Ages it was almost entirely occupied by houses, but the municipality of Spoleto with the statutes of 1196 decided to return “recta, expedita et ampliata”
Are visible on the facades of the palaces, frescoes and graffiti.

Buona giornata,Luciano

Ciao Caro Silvio,
This is a lovely, social scene, very well exposed and with a fine sense of depth.
I like how the curved benches, with seated figures, give f/g details which draw our attention immediately. We become interested in them and their conversation but that does not stop us from appreciating the fine details of the buildings surrounding the square.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hi Silvio,
La présence des personnes anime la scène. La prise de vue permet de voir les détails de la fontaine et des immeubles. La lumière fait ressortir les couleurs. Bonne journée.

Hello Silvio.
Stunning this species of cover, which serves to enhance the beautiful fountain at a first glance I thought was a church, a vital touch with the two boys talking each one in a bank "security distance".
Very nice color and good sharpness.
Very well done. I like it.
Have a great day.
Very best regards.
Luis.

Hello Silvio,
Excellent presentation of this beautiful heart of the city with a very pretty front facade of the church.
You composed the photo in a very good way with the semi-circular benches in the foreground.
The people on the benches add life to the picture.
Best regards, Paul

Ciao Silvio
A charming mediaeval piazza, with good sharpness and well framed and composed. The semi circular chairs and the round fountain and pot-plant, mirror the circular clock in the distance. Tfs!

Hi Silvio
Lovely photo of this beautiful detailed grand edifice nicely fitting the frame in soft colours with blue sky. The people on the foreground work a treat as they lead smoothly into the centre stage. Superb composition.

Ciao Silvio,
This is a brilliant composition! Thge architecture of the church is quite interesting by itself and you captured it well with nice sky above it. The benches make a fantastic foreground as is nicely framing the view from the bottom. In addition you have two boys sitting nearly symmetrically opposite each other which brings so much life and interest here as well.
Excellent work,
M

silvio
excellent use of these two personages in FG while we have the monumental fountain ahead. I remember I was surprised with the real windows of a real house opened in the fountain.

Hello Silvio,
That monumental fountain is a treasure, I wish the town had enough money for some TLC (tender loving care).
