Photographer's Note
The Capuchin friars arrived in Spoleto in 1535, residing in the church of Sant'Anna, (http://www.iluoghidelsilenzio.it/convento-dei-cappuccini-di-santanna-strada-dei-patricani-di-spoleto-pg/ ) on the road of the Patricani, from where Father Bernardino da Colpetrazzo wrote his chronicles, and where he himself and San Giuseppe da Leonessa were fathers superior.
In 1570 they decided to approach the city and therefore to build a new convent on Colle Attivoli, which, as soon as it was ready, was consecrated by the bishop Pietro Orsini. The French closed it in the early 180s. After the restoration it was reopened in 1814. Another event, the Italian unification, led to its new closure in 1866, after being acquired by the state.
The friars bought it back with a generous donation from the Pianciani Counts. Recently, in 1967, the convent was renovated.
It is currently a formation house for the Capuchin provinces of Umbria, Marche, Abruzzo, Lazio and Sardinia.
Although devoid of particular artistic value, the convent has an atmosphere of great serenity. Ring the friars, a moment of recollection will easily be opened to you. It is a tradition for the Spoleto people to go for breakfast at the convent on Easter Monday.
The small and very pretty church adjacent to the Capuchin convent (which obviously contains another inside) is dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary of Lourdes.

Hello Silvio,
You found a perfect vantage point for taking this photo, high above the convent. It is an impressive cluster of buildings surrounded by the forest, but the finest detail is the small church in the upper corner. I also like the large cross outside it. You seem to have had a fairly good digital camera already 16 years ago. The photo is very clear and sharp.
Best regards,
Gert

Hi Silvio
It would not surprise me if the Cappuccino style of coffee came from this region. A superb aerial view from the lookout, with good sharpness, and natural looking colour. Tfs!

Hi Silvio,
Les arbres cadrent bien l'immeuble. La prise de vue permet de voir les détails du couvent des frères Capucins. La lumière fait ressortir les couleurs. Bonne journée.

Hello Silvio,
You had a nice vantage point to capture the complex of buildings here, they stand out well from the green surroundings and the sunlight was pleasant and natural also.

Hi Silvio
This looks almost like a jail rather than a convent and it even has a high wall around it. A good photo of the old complex.
cheers

Hi Silvio
There's a strong and effective architectural value down below and lovely that there's a clear separation of elements making this look so contrasty amidst the green environment. An adventurous bird eye view well captured.
Best regards

Hi Silvio.
A vast complex of this convent with so many buildings that have nothing relevant, only its large size and its beautiful location surrounded by trees.
Wonderful image, sharpness, exposure, colors and POV are excellent.
Enjoy a good day.
Very best regards, my friend.
Luis.

Hello Silvio,
Nice aerial view of this convent. I wonder what that lone building in the corner with a cross near it is, is it the Blessed Virgin Mary of Lourdes Church?
Regards,
MT
