Photographer's Note

The Grand Canal at noon.
Venice has to be the most photogenic place on Earth but for some reason it does'nt attract much interest here on TE. Never the less, I will continue to post images from my time there. Any critique appreciated.

Hi Jeff
I like the composition of this image. The eye follows the buildings round one by one. The picture does however look a bit bright. Is this the haze created by the sun? Great shot nonetheless.

Always wanted to see the place...
Jeff, it is almost a cliche, but so charming, so warm (in spite of this being January). I like this unhurried feeling, of being removed somehow in time. Did you feel that too when you were there? Nice filtered light, very good composition.

I've seen a lot of pictures from Venice but this is one of the bests I remember.I like the peaceful atmosphere created by the filtered light.Great composition.Congratulations!

Great shot! I like the atmosphere created by the slight mist or haze, which makes the buildings in the background appear to be slightly faded, and making the boats and the man stand out even more vividly. Nice composition too. Well done!

Its a great scene- just what you'd expect from Venice. The architecture is pretty- especially in those brown/orange tones. Great capture in that lighting. I bet it would look good with a frame around it..just an idea.
