Basilica San Giorgio, a photo from Venice, Veneto

Photographer's Note

The day starts to fall on Venice, gondolas are moored near the Piazza San Marco, and are carefully tent of their blue canvas for the night.
In the background lies the island of San Giorgio Maggiore, where classical and stands a majestic architectural works the best and most famous of Andrea Palladio: the Basilica San Giorgio.
Begun in 1566, it has been completed twenty-five years later, when the famous architect was already dead.
Inside the church there grandiose houses masterpieces admirable.

Hi Pascal,
good framing in white idea,contrast,POV.Colors are a bit oversaturated(IMHO),but creates finalized image.

joli POV tout en contrastes avec ce premier plan aux couleurs un peu soutenues des toiles, et cet arrière plan avec un ciel et une lumière très soft.

Excellent shot, I love the deep blues of the foreground, and how the background is nicely framed using the tether poles. Excellent lighting on the sky, I wonder what time this was shot at? Perhaps it might have been interesting to shoot with a filter so as to take some reflection of the water. Great job!

Hello Pascal,
You've taken a classic Venetian photo and turned it into something more special. Although you've obviously pushed the saturation and contrast quite a bit, the end result is vibrant and eye-catching. You're low POV and overall composition is superb Basillca San Giorgio is well positioned. Very well done indeed.

Salut mon Pascal
Je connais ton talent mais la tu me laisse sans voix.
A croire que chaque fois qu'il y a un point d'eau et un coucher de soleil tu réussi une oeuvre d'art.
Les couleurs et les pontons avec les gondoles qui pointent vers la Basilique San Giorgio donnent vraiment de la vie à ta photo.
Une vraie carte postale, dans le bon sens du terme.

The only thing that i like less is the blue color. It is the unique element that doesnt "mate" in this scenary.
However, this photo is amazing.

this is an amazing picture, a scene photographed countless times, but your picture is striking. composition is perfect with wonderful balance and symmetry with the gondolas, and the poles. the depth of field is stunning with the island in the background is such focus. your control of the light and production of the bold colours is superb. i wish i had taken this.
