The Bridge of Sighs (Italian: Ponte dei Sospiri, Venetian: Ponte de i Sospiri) is a bridge in Venice, Italy. The enclosed bridge is made of white limestone, has windows with stone bars, passes over the Rio di Palazzo, and connects the New Prison (Prigioni Nuove) to the interrogation rooms in the Doge's Palace. It was designed by Antonio Contino, whose uncle Antonio da Ponte designed the Rialto Bridge, and it was built in 1600./WIKIPEDIA/

Hi Janusz, no matter how many photos I see of Venice I can't help liking them, including this one with the iconic gondolas gliding beneath the bridge. A bit of a shame the somewhat distracting girl was in the bottom corner. cheers, Steve

Excellent vertical photo with a wonderful view down the canal in Venice. We get a great look at the famous Bridge of Sighs, which is very nicely sunlit also. Great inclusion of the gondola in the foreground.

Hello Janusz,

What a fine composition!
Your viewpoint, where the canal disappears between the converging lines of the buildings, is very powerful!
In addition, the gondola, is perfectly placed and encourages us to share the journey with the tourists!

The details are crisp and the light handled really well.

It's a well composed photo with very attractive strong colours. The green canal is seen along a deep perspective and you timed the photo well to have the gondola in a good position. I like the inclusion of the smiling women in the corner too, even though she was partly cut off.

There must be thousands of photographs of this famous bridge but this is the best photograph I have seen of it in a very long time because it has so much more interesting features in it than just the bridge itself!

Yes, the bridge is perfectly placed in the frame and is brightly lit by the sun and is full of detail, but we also see in excellent detail the tall buildings on either side as well as the canal below which leads us into the far distance. And in the canal two gondolas with their occupants - one gondola in bright sunlight while the other is in shade - and to add to the appeal, a young lady appears at an entrance at bottom right!

A fabulous photograph, full of interesting things to look at and examine in detail, with fine colours, perfect exposure and exquisite detail and sharpness throughout.

A typical Venice sight with gorgeous play of light, shade and shadow along with deep colours work a real treat here. The iconic gondolas and passengers steal the show smoothly lead to the whole length of this frame. Imho, that isolated fig on the bottom corner distracts the capture to a small degree. Excellent shot nevertheless.

Hello Janusz, I like the angle from which you took this shot; very often we get a view looking straight at the famous bridge.
Here we are able to see the features of the buildings on the left hand side.
The gondolas nicely fill that corner of the frame.
The light is lovely.
