Fenis Castle
Spectacular castle, heavily restored with effect from 1935 with additions or alterations which have altered the readability of the building, located on a hill is mentioned for the first time in a document in 1242 as a property of the Challants, loyal vassals of the Savoy.
After various vicissitudes, was also transformed into a farmhouse, is now open and is one of the most beautiful castles in the valley.

Hello Silvio,
A strange mix of architectural styles, but nevertheless still rather splendid. I like the point of view and the framing offered by the gently curving fence. The fine ambient light helps bring out the tones and textures to good effect.

Hi Silvio,
This is at the same time a very god picture and avery interesting castle. The picture is well balanced with perfect sharpness. The castle has these very typical Italian wal and it is beautifully situated in the valley. The foreground fence adds a good frame.

Hello Silvio,
It's interesting that you mention the heavy restorations undertaken here in the last centur, because looking closely at this medieval castle it looks almost to perfect to be entirely real. That doesn't make it less attractive for a photo with this dramatic background and the fine weather.

Castles are always a wonderful subject for photographers because they touch the imagination. This is a splendid castle, whether restored or not, and you have composed it well, with good guides from the path and the fence.
There are contrasting lighting effects from the sunlight and shadows which add a sense of depth to the receding wall.

molto bella la composizione ed il ruolo delle linee e le prospettive che definiscono lo spazio e l' architettura. Mi piace molto il gioco fra luce ed ombra su tutte le strutture del castello. Le tessiture delle costruzioni di pietra sono affascinanti. Chiarissimo e splendido il paesaggio che fa da sfondo e molto piacevole anche il cielo. I colori naturali sono meravigliosi.
