Civitella – SchegginornCivitella rises 480 meters above sea level, on the left bank of the Nera, along the mountain route that connected the Nera Valley with the territory of Monteleone di Spoleto.rnIt is part of the municipality of Scheggino, from which is 3,46 km, in the province of Perugia, Umbria region, living there 16 inhabitants.rnrnCesellirnrnCastle slope of the XIII-XIV sec. on the right bank of the river Nera. The most ancient settlement was built upstream of the town and were the remains of the walls of a church. Outside the entrance to the castle, the village has evolved with the typical case of a slope. His name, like that of the nearby villa of Cese in the town of Spoleto, probably derives from the Latin "CAED", that means cutting and weeding. Oral tradition attributes its foundation to the feudal lord chisel, the mythical origin of the medieval castle built to defend the feudal abbey of St. Pietro in Valle, assigned to the lords of Chisels, vassals of the dukes of Spoleto. rnr
