San Pietro Caveoso, a photo from Matera, Basilicata

La chiesa dei SS. Pietro e Paolo di Matera è più conosciuta come San Pietro Caveoso, dal nome della parte di città in cui si trova.
La facciata barocca nasconde le origini antiche di questa chiesa, la costruzione iniziale risale al 1218.
A sinistra e a destra ci sono le statue rispettivamente di S. Pietro e di S. Paolo, mentre al centro c'è la Madonna della Misericordia, simbolo della chiesa universale.

The 3 wheeled vehicle resembles a Thai Tuk tuk or samlor. The blue body and sky contrast well with the yellow sunlit facade of the bg church. Isn't Matera wonderful?

The small tuk-tuk makes an interesting counterpoint to the impressive church architecture. The scene is very nicely illuminated and benefits from excellent colours and sharpness.

Hello Carlo,
While the foreground is in the shade, the setting sun still lits the church beautifully.
The tricycle creates a pleasant foreground and adds more depth to the image.
At the left, we can see the typical landscape of Matera.
