Photographer's Note
I didn't know what to post so I found this view interesting to show you how the alleys and small streets of Matera are outlined, nothing special but I'm running out of photos of this beautiful city. And the problems for us are other, the virus is killing also in my village and for now the enclosure measures of the government do not seem to have any effect, every day is getting worse. So be careful, do not leave the house, always disinfect your hands when you touch public things and also pay attention to the guests you bring home. I wish you all the best.

Hello My friend
Scary thought that the preventive measures are not working. Your country seems to be taking the brunt of this in Europe. As far as your picture, the road looks like it was built on an old aqueduct. Take care and stay healthy.

Ciao Lucian, I observe the statistics and the situation in northern Italy is horrible. Almost 800 deaths just in one day in Italy and very few recovered. I can't understand why it is so. What went wrong? Were the regulations too late? What will the new day bring? I hope you stay safe even if you can't work in your bar. In Poland, all schools, theatres and other places where people usually gather are closed. Will it help? I am in quarantine, trying to avoid my family members (not so easy).
Take care

Hi Luciano
Look after yourself - we don't want to loose good TE members.
I do like this photo because of all the detail it gives of what looks like residential areas. It is an amazing place.
Cheers from Australia where we are getting closer to lockdowns as well.

Hello Luciano,
I really appreciate this kind of closer views of the city. Seeing the wider views I often wonder what the streets in the dense maze of houses look like. So this is a very interesting photo, not least because the street makes such nice curves.
The situation in Italy now is totally shocking. It is painful to hear the daily reports of increasing number of deaths. This is worse than any nightmare.
Kind regards,
Gert

Luciano, this elevated observatory offers a stunning view of Matera. The ancient houses have pink tints. It is as if time has stopped in this town. The visitor is immersed several centuries back. Fine colors, good sharpness, interesting photo note, regards.

Ciao Caro Luciano,
It's so sad to learn about the dangers in your own village! We are all very aware now of the sense in keeping away from others and for disinfecting regularly. We have so many brave people who are serving us both in hospitals and shops!
Len and I have worked voluntarily in our local shop for months but have decided to withdraw our service as we are part of the vulnerable group; we have been advised to self isolate as much as possible!
Back to your photograph, it is a photograph which I like immensely. I like how the pathway guides tortuously from the bottom to the top, on a diagonal. It leads past these characterful, old buildings, where the details are easily accessible.
Keep safe,
Bev :-)

here another day of quarantine, yesterday night police was in the streets watching people and obligating some stubborn to go from the streets back to the houses. the local mass today had only the portraits of people in the benches.. I watched on TV. outsider people is going to the river to fish, they think this is holidays..

Hello Luciano,
A very nice view of the town, seen from a good and high viewpoint. The path nicely snakes its way in front of the houses. The light was well handled as well.

Hi Luciano
this place is just TOO photogenic. another fine post from this location, i'll have to visit here one day - but that won't be happening anytime soon. Lets hope Italy and the rest of the world can get over this Virus sooner than later. 2020 is already a horrible year and it will be remembered as such.
Keep safe, wash your hands, stay inside :)
cheers

Hi Luciano,
That curving road is a really strong element in this view. I like the way it cuts through the mass of ancient buildings and makes a diagonal across the frame. Glimpse of sunshine near the top looks good too.

Hi Luciano.
A superb detail, in the original way of building this city, with the houses staggered one on top of the other in the direction of the hillside, sensational details of the houses, all very old.
Very nice color, which together with good sharpness and optimal lighting, gives great quality to the image.
Well done. I like very much
You have a good day.
Very best regards
Luis.

Ciao caro Luciano,
You people in the north of Italy have been struck by the virus much more severely than many other places and I am truly sorry to hear that there have been fatalities in your own village. But I believe that enclosure measures are starting to have some effect and thankfully there may soon be a turning point.
This is a beautiful photograph of a beautiful place, the roadway through the town here snaking its way while little alleyways and steps branch off in all directions leading to all manner of buildings, large and small. Apart from a small sunlit area at the top, the village is largely in shade which allows us to see clear details of the place including the little groups of people making their way uphill.
Beautiful!
You take care in these worrying times.
Kindest Regards,
John.
