A light in the dark, a photo from Salerno, Campania

Photographer's Note

I wanted to use this photo to signal the hope of a reversal in coronavirus infections, a trend that has been registered in Italy for 3 days, after 10 days of enclosure. It is a light in the dark but certainly a good signal for everyone. The photo represents the Temple of Athena in Paestum, which I had not yet shown.
The temple of Athena or Tempio di Cerere (about 500 BC) is a Greek temple located in Paestum, in the municipality of Capaccio Paestum in the province of Salerno, built in the northern Sanctuary, in a diametrically opposite position compared to the southern Sanctuary, where they stand the temple of Neptune and the Basilica.

UNA LUCE NEL BUIO

Ho voluto usare questa foto per segnalare la speranza di una inversione nei contagi da coronavirus, una tendenza che si registra in Italia da 3 giorni, dopo 10 giorni di clausura. E' una luce nel buio ma sicuramente un buon segnale per tutti. La foto rappresenta il Tempio di Athena a Paestum, che non avevo ancora mostrato.
Il tempio di Atena o tempio di Cerere (circa 500 a.C.) è un tempio greco che si trova a Paestum, nel comune di Capaccio Paestum in provincia di Salerno, costruito nel Santuario settentrionale, in posizione diametralmente opposta rispetto al Santuario meridionale, dove si ergono il tempio di Nettuno e la Basilica.

I hope you are correct but Italian figures still look scary. We're just hoping that we don't land up as bad.

Hello Luciano,
Donald Trump sees the light at the end of the tunnel at Easter, at least for the USA. Not because there are medical reasons to believe that, but because his gut feelings tell him so. After all, he is the greatest and smartest politician that ever lived. But for Italy you may be right. We all sincerely hope so, and comparing with the developments in China there may be reasons for some hope. So this photo is not only a signal of hope, but it's a fine photo that could have been posted anytime. The illuminated temple in the darkness is like magic.

Quite striking view, an ancient temple virtually floating in darkness. Yes, it is a signal of hope. Effect of closure comes slowly as the infection hits after delay and treacherously. But eventually it works.

very inspiring and raising hope title.
I wish you all the best. Italy certainly had already a big share of the deaths and it would be nice to see the virus finally disappearing.
English people are by definition more distanced than Italians so we hope the effect will not be that dramatic but then again it is much colder up there so people keep sneezing and coughing all year round...
Great pic. The dark night is so uniformly black but the light gets through!
