Photographer's Note
Good Morning Everyone,
This photograph was taken on our last day in Rome.
It was a beautiful day and after satisfying our views of the important icons that we had been determined to explore, we decided that we would just walk around the city enjoying the sights and the ambience.
This scene immediately appealed; the sculpture in the foreground, two churches (Santa Maria de Loreta and Santissimo Nome di Maria) in the mid-ground and Trajan's Column in the background.
To have so much beautiful architecture and artistic work, in one shot, was eye-popping!
I will add a slightly different view as a workshop.
Have a lovely weekend, Bev :-)

Hello Bev, my TE neighbour today!
An amazing variety of architecture on display here, and if I am not mistaken, taken from the steps of the War Memorial, another impressive building.

A perfect blue sky backdrop with good sharpness and framing. Tfs!

Domes and statues in abundance, Beverley, exquisite architecture's details which were managed to combine. The wonderful picture and the outcome pleases by me a lot.
Sharp, distincty contrast, scaled and enliven by the people on side's.

Hi Bev,
The tight frame is putting the subjects in evidence. The point of view is showing the details of the sculpture, of the churches and of the Trajan's Column. The quality of the light beautifies the colors. Have a nice day.

Hello Bev,
I spent almost a month in Rome on my first visit and explored the city almost entirely on foot. I learned to find my way everywhere and I recognized almost every church and monument, but now my memories are rather vague. I would hardly have identified anything in this photo, but the general style and the atmosphere of the city is still familiar. You composed this well with the monument and the column framing the view of the two churches. To the left is a reminder of the level of tourism in Rome.
Best regards,
Gert

Hello Beverley,
Those two slightly different some are very attractive, especially in front of this blue sky. Also the two sculpture and the column in the far right look great and are very sharp. A wonderful impression from this part of Rome.

Hello Bev, I know exactly where you were standing. The black sculptures belong to the Altare della Patria - we see the "steps" of this monument. On the left side is Assicurazione Generali. great view and wonderful colours and sharpness of the photo taken on a sunny day. It is so many marvellous places to see in Rome!
The same two churches and the Traian Column but from the different point of view are here: https://www.trekearth.com/viewphotos.php?l=7&p=1411363

Hello Beverley, an excellent point of view that takes in so much of the beautiful architecture.
Looking at the w/s picture we see the same place but with more people, equally as interesting.
Kind regards, Jean.

Hello Beverley,
Magnificent architecture shot!
Various sculptures and domes, a tower and a column nicely placed in a row.
Excellent quality.
For me an original view from Rome.
The left corner at the bottom adds a view of everyday life.
Best regards, Paul

Hi Bev,
I know what you mean.
Rome is one of those places where your head is turning around and it is hard to stop taking photos. Every angle offers a different combination of beautiful subjects.
I like such busy compositions, they are so eye catching.
You had a great weather day with clear blue sky.
It is slightly unfortunate that the column in the right side is so close to the edge and distorted by the perspective, but such busy scenes are hard to capture perfectly in one go. I tend now to take wider compositions just in case I am missing something and to be able to sacrifice some of the image for perspective correction. But in the past my approach was different especially in the pre-digital times.
Great reportage,
M

Hi Bev.
Certainly Rome is a city full of art and beauty and here you have captured in the same plane, a plethora of works of art, with the alignment of the sculptures, the two church domes and Trajan's column, a whole recreation for our eyes.
Sharpness, lighting, color, and magnificent composition; they are managed to perfection, in this beautiful image.
Very well done. I like very much.
You have a good day. Very best regards.
Luis.

Hi Bev
oh, I love that WS, its easily a Main post. So many times we do that don't we. whats funny about this one is that the buildings on the left are perfectly straight, yet the old domes on the right are tilted...now is this a photo that isn't tilt corrected or is it just how the old architecture is slanting over time? who knows. I like your note, just taking in the scenes, taking in the moment, relax, walk around, nothing wrong with having no specific plans. cheers
Craig
