Palace of Arezzo
Above the town of Arezzo, at 425 meters above sea level you can see the remains of the Palace, resulting from the transformation into a noble residence of a fortress of the Equitani family from Cesi.
Initially it was a military structure then transformed into the summer residence of the family which, in the meantime, had taken the name of Cesi. It was probably then owned by the noble Benedetti Montevecchio di Spoleto family. The building had 60 rooms, arranged on three levels, and overlooked the course of the Maroggia river, before the construction of the dam, watching over the important Roman road that connected Spoleto to Sangemini. It is now in complete disrepair, shrouded in vegetation and dangerous to enter. The remains of walls, on which elegant fourteenth-century windows open, basements with elegant vaults, piles of stones and what remains of a vague sixteenth-century decoration, still suggest the ancient splendor of the building.

Buona serata,Luciano

Hello Silvio
View of this ruin. Clarity and exposure done well. The green color combination of the trees makes the image attractive

Hello Silvio,
This once grand palace now looks like a dangerous place. The faded traces of paint still remaining tell us of a beautiful past. Now nature and destruction has taken over, but you made another document as a memory of what may soon be gone for ever.
Best regards,
Gert

Hello Silvio,
It seems as if you were standing on the edge of a deep hole.
Hopefully the floor you were standing on wasn't cracked.
The palace is almost completely destroyed. Yet we still see some beautiful murals.
Best regards, Paul

Ciao Silvio,
Wow this is quite an extraordinary capture of the old and so neglected palace. When I first saw the title "palace" and then I looked at the photo I thought this must be a mistake ha ha but then I noticed the remains of the rich decorations of the walls. It seems the nature takes back this place with all the plants growing inside.
Great reportage,

Hello Silvio,
Ruins of a grand old palace, I wonder why it fell into disrepair.

Excellent take of the ruins of the palazzo, Silvio.
The peeled plaster of the painted walls show a decayed ancient artwork, left to the climbing shrubs - but those animate the photo, fairly well.
Arrivederci,
Ike
