Photographer's Note

Today I post an everyday life scene that I think very charachteristic of a kind of bar that we call "osteria".

I had been sitting there reading newspapers because I had to wait the time to go to the hospitale close there to have a visit, and I was looking around: I noticed all together these two ladies eating and chatting, a man playing slot-machine and another man waiting someone that will buy fortune cards. I had not my camera, so I used my Nokia hoping to get something from it.

"Osteria" is a bar where people drinks most of all wine, and perhaps eats some snaks.
One time they were places where men met in the evening after work.

Wonderful daily life scene taken at the osteria with the two ladies chatting and getting some food while the gentleman is playing slot-machine.
Looks it's very cold inside the place when they kept wearing their coats. Good lighting, colors and POV.

Ciao Livia, bella foto, un bar come c ene sono probabilmente una mezza milioanta in giro per l'Italia, con le due signore che ciacolano mangiando e ebvendo qualcosa di caldo e l'uomo che si fa fregare un pò di denaro dal video-poker.
buon risultato nonostante la foto fatta con un cellulare!

peccato che non si fuma piu' in questi luoghi senno' si vedeva anche la bella atmosfera fumosa ......e sicuramente il tizio che giocava con la sigaretta in bocca che gli cecava l'occhio

ecco un'immagine veramente tipica! I volti e le posizioni.... bellissimi! Il lotto ed il totocalcio sullo sfondo... c'è solo quella slot machine che è un'aggiunta "moderna" però l'atmosfera da osteria c'è tutta!

Osteria a Trieste! L'uomo che gioca con la macchinetta ha fattezze marcatamente caucasiche. Bella città, Trieste, con una storia importante. Vorrei conoscerla di più.

well the quality is not bad at all for a mobile phone! I like this view of everyday life, and I remember well these osterias in Italy, they remind me a bit of the PMU cafés in France, special atmosphere, old jukeboxes and music! I also think that a conversion in b/w would look good, but the fades greenish tones here work very well, good rendered mood.

quite impressive with a phone shot :)
given the subject, i highly appreciate such shots, these are tricky if you carrying a camera... when people become so conscious that you lose the candid element! But I have seen people coming out with good shots from such situations, maybe experience, maybe skill is what counts.
your shotsgives a glimpse of everthing inside the Osteria, just as one would see.
