Photographer's Note
In Riga ethnic Latvians are outnumbered by Russians due to many being killed or deported the hash Soviet rule in the early 1940s. This is the case in most of Latvian cities today. To read more about the history of Latvia, here's a good link: http://www.indylatvians.com/ehistory%201.htm.
An old picture from my slide collection to represent Latvia, this one depicts the market on the street. Notice large every day goods on the street for sale. In 2000, you could still feel it sliding away from the old Soviet ways.

Great color corrections and clean-up. This is a nice representation of the street life there, with neat colors and lines of architecture, I really like the angle you caught, and the men working. It does make me wonder how much "stuff" is on the street there. Is it navigable by anything other than pedestrians?

I like the stretched perspective and the muted colors -- it reminds me of an image out of the 70's (a genre I like a lot). It looks like something out of a textbook and I like the nostalgic feeling.

Very nice picture, nice colors. I like the shape of the houses, very well done!
