Photographer's Note

I always say that luck is a key factor in photography, providing the photographer is quickly aware of a situation . Tetovo a small towm east of Skopje, the capital of Macedonia, is famous for its small mosque called " Alaca " or "painted mosque": Built during the first part of the 19th century during the Ottoman Empire the mosque has extremely pleasant painted patterns on the inside. I was invited by the "Elema " Photo Club in order to judge pictures in the " Photomedia " contest, and
I was on a country tour, featuring Tetovo and Ohrid. Knowing about the beauty of the monument,
I wanted to take pictures of the exquisite interior. Instead of finding an empty local I found these girls from the coranic school situated nearby all dressed in white, waiting
for an interview with a German TV channel. I took
a few pictures with my D100 before the TV team actually started to shoot.

This is well seen. You've been lucky ! I really like to see the expression on each of those little girls. I might have cropped a little bit more at the left, just before the guys and removed some floor on the front to get closer to the faces.

unique, if a little contrived, of a shot. Great graphism, even though the girls' expressions are a little stiff.

Indeed - Luck an important factor in getting the best photo - You got this setup nicely and while writing this I remember to have experienced something similar - a TV-crew making a setup which I was lucky to get some shots of (too bad I never posted)

I like sight of this nicely dressed youngsters - there seems to be a shy one amoung them - thanks Izzet for sharing.

Dear Izzet

I am hapy that you have posted this photo. I always wanted to explore some of the mosques in macedonia but unfortunately never had a chance. You have just give the picture I have missed for so long. This childs looks so clear, dedicated and obviously shy.

Very nice angle and colour. Excelent composition! Thanks for sharing!
