Deze kleine Panda-beer leeft in de Rotterdamse Dierentuin Blijdorp.
En ik maar denken dat de Panda's alleen maar zwart en wit waren.

This is not the Giant panda, which are black and white. I can't remember what this species is called--but he/she sure is cute! Fun capture!

Peter dit is een prachtige foto, de kleine Panda (wat het nu ook mag zijn) kijkt recht in de camera, is nog lekker aan de bambo bezig, de Cipres op de voorgrond, ik vind deze zeer mooi. Ik hou hier van. Proficiat.

The red panda ...
... is found in a mountainous band from Nepal through northeastern India and Bhutan and into China, Laos and northern Myanmar. It is rare and continues to decline. It has already become extinct in 4 of the 7 Chinese provinces in which it was previously found. The major threats to red pandas are loss and fragmentation of habitat due to deforestation (and the resulting loss of bamboo) for timber, fuel and agricultural land; poaching for the pet and fur trades; and competition from domestic livestock.
