Green Countryside, a photo from Sor-Trondelag, South

Photographer's Note

I think I may have mentioned it before, but this summer was very wet!

With some good will I can find only two advantages with all this rain – the electricity bill coming winter will be low as all reservoirs are filled to the rim, and the landscape looks incredibly fresh and green during a rainy summer!

The weather was strange in July, more like the rainy season in tropical regions as the days could start out great with high temperatures but we always got this heavy rain shower in the afternoon…

Unfortunately the autumn won’t be much either photo wise, as the leaves are already blown off the trees by strong wind!

The bottom line is, 2011 has been a very poor year for outdoor photography in my part of the world…

By the way, the present view was taken from the road on a trip to Forollhogna National Park.

Fine shadows and lightened areas in a beautiful park area, so much green all around, and the red wooden houses standing-out in contrast through the middle of all this fine area.

ti lamenti per il cattivo tempo di questa estate che non ti ha permesso di fare le foto che avresti voluto.
Ma l'incipiente autunno vedrai che con i suoi colori caldi ti darà nuove idee per ottenere quegli scatti di grande valore ed eleganza che condividi abitualmente con gli amici di TE.
In questo scatto hai saputo spezzare sapientemente la distesa di verde con la striscia rossa delle case.
Per il resto grande nitidezza e eccellente composizione.

Hi Pablo,
There are always these better moments if you just have a chance to wait. Sun lights exactly right part of the scene with all those red Norwegian farm buildings. Lovely landscape.
Finnish summer weather was not so bad although, nothing to compare with the previous summer. In fact the weather in Germany was much worse when I made a visit there in July.

The different tones of green color on your photo looks great. I think a lot of rain helped with those colors.

very beautiful thge red buildings contrasting with the greens around. I liekd the strips of shadows mixed with these iluminated areas, creating more textures and dof. nice job.
here in my homeland we had the coldest winter in these last 10 years, with many frosts, storms and dry weeks. at this moment the wind is blowing from south pole and it is so much fresh for almost october, that is one of the hottest months of the year.

Yes! really so green!
I would have used the title from a famous film of the fifties: "How green was my valley" by John Ford. (from a novel by Richard Llewellyn). You found a good pov and most of all a good moment to photograph it, that last light illuminating the farm while the foreground is in the shade create a lovely effect. The red houses are- as usual in most of your photos - the perfect eye catchers and I like the great sense of depth created by the hills and the distant mountains.

All that gives a special atmosphere and make the image very appealing.

this landscape is precious, I like its variety of green tonalities, and the different textures that offer us the fields, hills and forests.
The rainy summer provides this great chromatic beauty to us, but at the same time, impedes the outdoor photos, and is a pity, because the Norwegian landscapes are splendid.
Nevertheless, this photo is a great success, because of its great beauty, its good luminosity and its great image quality.

and i think i have mentioned it before - that this is truly your signature style!
I have to agree with you about the weather in our local area too. Our summer had very little sun, alot of rain, and cooler temps.
as for this shot, love the greenery everywhere! so full of life, and the red strip in the middle is just icing on the cake.
its a lovely color arrangement.

The weather might not have been very good in the summer of 2011. But this does not necessarily mean that the weather conditions are not good for outdoor photography. I really like the lighting in this photo. The shades of green are very nice here and the constast between the sunlit farm buildings and the shades surroundings is very attractive. Really fine composition and perfect sharpness. TFS and have a nice weekend!
