Autumn Mood 3, a photo from Sor-Trondelag, South

Photographer's Note

This is end of September and as you can see most of the trees have naked branches, heavy wind a couple of weeks before already had brought the leaves to the ground…

Well, at least that goes for the birch, the dominating tree in the northern mountain landscape. But the autumn colours are still present on the ground!

What you see here is the shore of a small lake in Forollhogna National Park. I have to admit I was extra cautious on this trip since this is in the middle of the hunting season, and there is no hunting without shooting accident that kills someone!

Well I got away this time too…

Hello Pablo - I'm pleased to see you managed to dodge the hunters' bullets in your quest to capture this delightful autumn shot. The combination of silky water and the textures of dried reeds and shrubs is lovely. The tree in the FG is a strong focal point, setting the scene for those similarly lit behind. I like the mix of warm colors that autumn can combine, and this view is so pleasant, with the little dock a little hidden and the waters like bronze.

Hi pablo,

Early autumn must be fabulous in Norway. here the view is original, as the all leaves are already fallen down but the bushes and grasses are very attractive in colours. Fortunately you were not treated as a big animal!

You did a hazardous job, dear Pablo! But the result was worthwhile the effort.

Very good composition! Here the beautiful autumn colours can't be found in the foliage of the trees but in the low shrubs and plants. The many warm tones make a nice curve around the dark water. I also like the contrast they make with the black & white part of the picture, namely the top of the trees.

Hi Pablo,
To me, this looks like diamond set in a ring of gold decorated with ruby ! Then, the contrast of those bright colours with the darker leafless trees and even the evergreen, is very effective !
Great composition with the semi-circle formed by the lake, on the left. Good depth given by the tree in the foreground leading the eye to the wood at the back.

The very intense and warm colours are the most striking feature of this photo (and this series). also there is a strong contrast both of light and colour - the dark pond with the golden grass, the green tree with the leafless ones - which gives power to the image. It seems that nature is showing off before the winter white cover comes... good that you have zoomed into the pond with its lovely reflection.
Quite a gay mood over there!

autumn begins very early in Norway, as we can see in this nice photo.
I like its high chromatic level, with the varied yellow, red and green tonalities.
The small lake and the landscape that surrounds it form a part of a really nice landscape, which inspires us a great calmness.
