Photographer's Note

The High Castle, the most important part of the Teutonic castle in Malbork, seen from the castle tower.

The Knights of the Teutonic Order built in the 13th century 56 castles in northern Poland, but the castle in Malbork was the largest one and it was the seat of the Grand Master of the Order.

It was not the first castle built in this place, in the past probably there was a smaller castle, but it was destroyed because it was located too close to the Nogat River and the slope has slipped.
