Photographer's Note

The Archcathedral Basilica of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary and Saint Andrew in Frombork was originally constructed from 1329 to 1388.It is located on a fortified hill, it is 19 m long and 16.5 m high. The church itself was built in the Gothic style, the main altar dates from the 18th century, and 16 side altars are decorated in different styles: from Gothic to late Baroque.

Nicolaus Copernicus, a Polish astronomer (De revolutionibus orbium celestium), was buried in the Frombork cathedral, his grave was found only in 2005, and the identity was confirmed by DNA testing. In Uppsala, Sweden, there is a book in which were found several hairs belonging to Copernicus.
The DNA from the bones found in the grave was compared with the DNA in hair samples taken from the book in Uppsala.
