About Poland. Page Four: About Borderland
This reagion, nowedays most north-eastern part of the country, was a disputable area in the beginning of 1920s, and a war territory between newly re-born Lithuania and Poland. It changed hands several times and finally the border (in its today shape, too) was set at so called Foch's Line.
And it was the only "hot" time in our thousands years old history of a friendly neighbourhood (and being a one country for hundreds years).
-----
Not exactly, in fact. Until today the greatest poet in the history of the region - Adam Mickiewicz (Lith. Adomas Mickievicius) is another dispute: his roots are Belarussian (his family name definitely is, and he was born in Belarussia), he spoke and felt as a Pole, and wrote that Lithuania was his motherland and homeland. Typical borderland dilemma.

Photo: Lithuanian youth during a regional festival. No need to explain how important it is to sustain the tradition...

Zajęci sobą i swoim dziełem. Zajęte ręce rozmyte, twarz ostra, skupiona. W tle - podobnie.

Jerzy, sometimes people have trouble catching the essence of their own native place. For me, inexplicably, it's very difficult. You've succeeded aptly though all of this series. Great note too. regards, c

I like the light on the wooden wall on the right. Then there is the usual Nikon definition, so good! The action is also nice and is what really matters here. We are able to embark in their journey as they seem quite busy. The compo is very good I must add. The girl with the white embroidery hat really grabs our eye. It's a pity your pov has hidden the other friend. Or maybe not... Great tones!

Hello Jerzy,
Perfect capture of these girls at work.
The POv is excellent and the girl lokks very convicted on her work.
I also like the fact that we can see lots of details here.
Colours and light are great.
