About Poland. Page Nine: Abort Zulawy House

The other day, on my way to Gdansk I took a detour in order to find Zulawy House (Pl: Dom Zulawski), the archi style which you can find in Poland only in the region of Zulawy. Some of the houses you may find by the main road from Warsaw to Gdansk but I wanted to find something special.
As it happened I found one where I met the owner of the house, an elderly gentlemen speaking with a strong eastern accent.
Born before the WWII near Vilnius, survived bombing in Stuttgart in Germany during WWII where his parent were sent to labour camp. After the war his family was forced to flee Lithuania and "granted" this house (previous owners had been forced to move to Germany).

Hey Jerzy,

a valuable doecumentary work from you, this series but not only. Seems to me you have so much material for a serious publication or exhibition. The unpretentious intimacy with which you approach your work, it is refreshing and inspiring.

A full package from you Jerzy! Really loved to see the workshop area. Since I am an architecture lover these traditional houses always speak louder to my ears. The man is really beautiful; one can feel his warmth and his welcoming attitude. What else could we expect from you? The light in his face is very good. Like the tilt and the perfect aperture choice. Very good indeed. Many thanks for this series and this photo my friend.

Oczekiwanie na kolejna stronę Twoich opowieści staje się stalym elementem mojego poranka :)
Super historia, zdjęcia w WS dodają kontekstu, w tamtych nie mialeś szczescia do nieba.
Nie wiem, czy nie zachowalbym calej glowy tego pana, gdybym robil to zdjęcie...
Ale co ja tam wiem o portretach...

Podziwiam Twoją rozrzutność. Znam przynajmniej 100 members of TE, co by dali w tym przypadku każde zdjęcie samodzielnie. Czy Ty się jeszcze zajmujesz czymś innym poza fotografowaniem? :)) Pozdrawiam.

I preffer the WS because you showed us the typical houses of the region. (a thing I missed there...)

Obviously, the compo and this strange POV adds a lovely dynamism to thr pìcture.

Serwus Jurek !
Powierzchowna i wewnetrzna elegancja tego czlowieka mnie tu urzeka. To jest obraz kresowiaka z bystrym "okiem". To jest wyraz tego, kiedy na zwrot do mnie "Prosze Pana", odpowiadam niezmiennie od paru juz lat: "Panowie to byli przed wojna". Szacunek za te fotografie.

Podoba mi sie pomimo obcietej glowy ;)
Troche to sie od razu rzuca w oczy, ale jednoczesnie przyciaga uwage. Niemniej zdjecie i postac sa bardzo ciekawe. Jest jakas glebia w tym czlowieku. Pozdrawiam.

Witaj Jurek,
Ten pan przypomina mi trochê cz³owieka z mojej m³odo¶ci. Podobna postawa, podobne spojrzenie. Ciêcie kadru w górnej czê¶ci uwa¿am za bardzo dobry zabieg, trochê prowokuj±cy, ale zmuszaj±cy do natychmiastowego kierowania wzroku na na oczy modela. lekie przechylenie kadru podnosi jego dynamikê. £adne kolory i g³ebia ostro¶ci.
