Photographer's Note
After two hours of playing this fantastic music all the musicians were sweating. They refused to play any longer. You could see their absolute devotion to the klezmer music...
Last in the series and last before my skiing holidays in Italy. I'll drop from time to time though.
Best wishes to everybody!

Pozdrawiam.

Gorgeous series, Jerzy, the three shots are wonderful. This one cleverly composed too, the accordionist taking the whole width of the frame with his instrument, the other guy great nicely confined to the corner, with a hint of the contrabass. You've nicely achieved depth here too in that blurred background, yet we can see there's a Jewish candelabrum ("menorah") back there. Superb expressions, superb colors. TFS and have fun in your holidays, Daniel

Another great shot Jerzy, and one thing that strikes me about this one is how you have just the right amount of depth of field to reveal important details in the background, without them becoming too distracting. That Jewish candlestick for example (sorry, don't know what they're called).
The composition is excellent too, with the inclusion of the second musician providing good balance, but what gives this shot it's real impact is the expression on the face of the accordionist.
This is a great piece of work Jerzy, well done. And have a great holiday!
Cheers,
Ben

I recognize that look. It's more a gaze of passion than of ecstasy. Fado singers do it all the time. For me the best in the series. You really transmitted here what you were talking in the notes: love for the music. Perfect use of dof with that standing guy on the right looking at the player. Great exposure for me.
Wishing you the best holidays!

Trzymaj wiec kciuki, zebysmy przetrwali trudny czas Twoich narciarskich brewerii.. :-)
Baw sie dobrze i wez aparat!

P.S.
Przepraszam za swoja powsciagliwosc w komentarzach nad Twoja seria krakowska.. najtrudniej byc Prorokiem we wlasnym kraju. Ciezko mi uwierzyc w ekstaze chlopcow grajacych seryjnie klezmerska muzyke "do kotleta"..

Stunning capture, Jerzy, the best of this series. The way he seems completely absorbed in the music is unique.

Pozdrawiam,

Ostatni akord wzięty ? Muzyk i fotograf - w pięknym unisono :-). Znakomity portret i każdy szczególik, każde łyśnięcie światełka - na akordeonie i tam z tyłu, wyżej... Dla mnie rewelacja. Pozdrowienia T.

Witaj Jerzy.
Great composition and moment. Who said that not was possible capture the feeling of the music when it is in the air?
For me, from all the photos that you have posted this year, this is your best.
Regards.

Lovely shot J - as you say lost in his music - a really wonderful portrait - I love the relationship of the two musicianns seen across the picture plane as well - contrast , light and outer framing style all work really nicely.
Have a great break J.
best wishes Kev

A beautiful image and wondeful story. The only change I'd make is to get rid of the frame, as I think most of the time frames detract from the image. That's just my personal philosophy though, and doesn't change the fact that this is a fantastic shot. Very well done!!

Great capture Jerzy. He's look, but also pose and expression, with the head leaned back, show us how devoted he is to his music. Love all the darks that makes a more intense atmosphere and the blurred background, including the other guy. Really good close portrait of yours.
Enjoy the skiing,
Ricardo
p.s.- I gave up of going this yearto the snow and I'm afraid that I will miss the ridings...

Beyond descrption.
Highest class photography there is.
Yes..There is a second leyer (The other musician).
Yes...There is a third leyer...Menorah disquised in bokeh par excellence...
Top of the chart?
No doubt in my mind.

He may be in total ecstasy, yes. One thing is sure: I am deeply immersed in a sea of JOY in seeing this photo. Every pixel of this photo is a JOY. The perfect focus, and the excellent bokeh that is like gold to me.
Listening to music (not all music though!) is exalting. The power of music is incredible. Sometimes, in listening to music, my soul is almost on the verge of exploding. Incredible experience. I am not a music player. But once, I was with friends, some of them knowing how to play music. We spontaneously started to sing and play music. We could not stop. We spend the night with the Gods, that's for sure. I will always remember this pure moment of ecstasy...
Hope you skiing holidays will be fill with JOY!

Hello Jerzy,
if the man wasn't carrying an accordeon I would say it was taken in Portugal, we only miss the portuguese guitar because his look is so much the look of Fado singers.
This man's expression is so very nice that we wouldn't need anything else for this photo.
Cheers,
Paulo

Hi Jerzy,
An interesting mini series...The most effective part of this composition is the apposition of the second musician and his completely laid back demeanour, versus the enthralled expression of the main subject. Superb lighting and balance with fine tight cropping. Well done.

Świetna jakość, świetna, mocna kolorystyka, klarowne światła i znakomite wykończenie. Piękna seria, której nie warto przeoczyć!
Pozdrawiam,
