Photographer's Note

As mentioned before, I tried to find a POV which would show the panorama of Funchal with the Igreja de São Gonçalo in the foreground. I showed you already the view, which was the best I managed, but sadly I drove too much down and although I got the church in the foreground the panorama was a bit hidden behind. After taking that photo I went a bit further to the right to capture the panorama itself without the church. It is more boring than the previous picture with the church but it gives a better impression of the Funchal. If you remember the shape of the Funchal Cathedral tower, you may be able to find it in this view. This photo has the advantage that it is closer to the town than the view from Pico dos Barcelos but it was taken a bit later so the whole scene is darker, although the sky behind is where the sun set so it is lit slightly longer.
