Photographer's Note
I'm feeling somewhat overwhelmed because I have so many photos from Portugal I want to share, probably over a 100 at least. Yet I have only posted about 18 or so, and there are still dozens and dozens I want to share from New York.
This doesn't even include all the photos from India and Italy I still want to post...I need 3 or 4 TE memberships! haha
I owe this photo to Daniel, (dkmurphys). He posted this church on the left as a main subject, and I liked it immediately. So I made sure I visited Aveiro, and I hunted down this church. The circular patterns on the ground were a surprise bonus, so I made sure to add them in the frame.
I'll post a couple of WS photos for you guys to enjoy too, one of the churches interior.
thanks for looking.

Hello Craig,
Haha funny, 100 photos from Portugal to share. I have probably some hundreds from China, plus photos from Spain, Paris, Italy, Belgium.... I could fill 10 memberships. And I post everyday. Lovely church on the left and also something like city hall. The Portuguese are masters of the patterns on the pavement. This one doesn't look as 3D. like in other places but is also nice.

Hello Craig,
Told you Portugal is a heaven for photographers, just prior to your trip, ifyou may remember - so, it will take time, but you will show us all of your 100 pictures from there.
Aveiro main attractions are the canals and boat - but architecture's and monument are no-less attractive.
Well placed the statue in between the towers, gave it "enough" space around within the frame.
Have a nice new day,
Ike

Hello Craig,
What a charming square and your vertical composition is excellent. The buildings look beautiful with many fine details, brought out well by the fine light and the statue is well placed in the centre. The many circles in the pavement make the foreground interesting too.

Hello Craig
Portuguese tiles are always great. This particular pattern I have never seen before. THe statue and the architecture is great too, but it's the tiles that steal the show.

Hello Craig,
It's a nice square, no doubt, but the view of the statue and the buildings owes a lot to the black circles on the ground and the bright light.
Best wishes,

Hello Craig,
I like the framing encompassing the two buildings and the statue and the typical Portuguese paving; an excellent use of the wide angle lens. Very good technical realisation.

Bonjour Craig,
Une image classique pour toi mais elle est très efficace. J'aime les patern au sol qui offrent un petit quelque chose de spécial à la place comme si on y voyait des bulles. Le cadrage vertical est excellent.

Hello Vraig ,
That is the kind of picture (this one is excellent) that all of us like to take in Portugal : a perspective on a square , with church and statue , with a large part given to the typical and beautiful pavement in the Fg .
I've similar views in other portuguese cities ;)

Hi Craig. You have many photos to show, but it's always difficult to choose which ... ehehhe .... my hard drive contains 110000 but every time I'm in trouble to choose. Your is beautiful, both the architecture and the floor are remarkable. Regarding your second WS, for the little I understand, it seems to be a sort of book of memories of famous people's visits, but not made in paper but carved on stone.Have a nice evening and thanks,Luciano.

Hi, Craig.
Wonderful composition, with the two buildings that make up the square, the town hall I suppose and the church, with the sculpture of a character in the center, but in addition to these monuments, I love your POV capturing the protagonism of the stone pavement drawing, Which gives a strong graphic.
A magnificent color that gives a lot of chromatic richness to the image.
Very good lighting management and very good sharpness.
Well done. I like it.
I wish you a nice week.
Very best regards.
Luis.

Hello Craig,
I must admit that I'm more mesmerized by the circles on the floor than the rest of the scene! The circles, with some shadows on them in the foreground, are fun to look at. :-) The architecture is also nice.
I looked at the WS photos. Here's an attempted translation (I'm not sure about one word). On the left side: "...Religion is of the conscience, and in the conscience there is neither majority nor minority." One the right side: "To the Grand Liberal Orator...from the city of Aveiro, in remembrance of the visit of workers from Porto who were on tour". I'm sure TE members from Portugal and Brazil can do better, but I gave it a shot! ;-)

I like the repetition of the tile pattern circles and the fg shadow play. Good sharpness and the red roof contrasts well against the blue sky. Tfs!

Hi Craig,
I love Portugal for these amazing patterned mosaics on the ground. Each square in the country seems different, and each is so attractive and eye catching. Here again the pavement contributes a fantastic foreground.
The statue was perfectly placed between two interesting buildings. The town is so charming and photogenic! I have started my trip through Portugal in Porto and there are so many areas which I have missed in the north.
It is definitely worth to get back there someday.
Excellent highest quality postcard like picture, exactly as I love it,

Hello Craig
A lovely photo from this square. You captured this scene in a nice light and used a good angle to include both the statue and the two byuildings. The circular patterns and the stonework certainly adds to the charm. Lovely place and fine shot my friend:) TFS.

I liked the way you put the typical portuguese sidewalk in evidence in foreground. nice framing using well the façades and the monument too. the compo is well balanced and so beautiful. I visited this town twice or so. it wasn't a so special place for us, my family preferred braga for exemple.I remember a photographer expelling my mother from a group of people in marriage near a church because she was spoiling the view. haha.I remember the nigh we spent there in an hotel located above the roof of a taberna, all night long hearing noises and drunkens.
hugs
jorge
