Photographer's Note
Winter season, when I take less photos due to the bad weather, is always a great time to browse through old photos. Sadly, in England it is also true in the middle of the summer. But that is why I really like TrekEarth and I would be really sad seeing this website to disappear, which seems quite imminent. I enjoy browsing through my old photos which remind me great time I had in the past, and which is so easy to forget. And of course, I like browsing through other people photos, as an inspiration for new trips, or sometimes to see how different a place may be perceived by others.
This is a photo from Batalha, one of the truly spectacular places I had the pleasure to visit in Portugal. To see a wider view of this monastery, check my previous photo here:

Hello mariusz,
One of the most interesting monastery I visited in Portugal.
Built in the 14th century, it hosts many intriguing corners with exquisite architecture's designed elements - Which i could not take them all in photos in the 2+/- hours of our visit.
I think this would be the western entrance to the cloister.
Have a nice sunday,
Ike

Hello Mariusz,
A beautiful photo of this cathedral, the orange parts of the lower half make a nice contrast with the grey areas. The lovely flowers are well included as well against the blue sky.

Hello Mariusz,
Your note about the site reminds me of the following.
We're all here on the Titanic and we've been convinced so well and so often that the ship will not sink. So let's just stay...
I enjoyed my visit of the Monastery of Batalha very much.
I thought it was one of the most impressive historical monuments in the country.
Beautiful inclusion of the branch with flowers adding a new and contrasting colour in the photo.
Best regards, Paul

Hi Mariusz
here is the perfect example of why its important to have a person in the frame...as much as it pains me to say that :)
that one single person makes a huge impact. Love the tall vertical, the strong stance, and just the overall visual impact. this is great. well done
cheers

Hi Mariusz
The man at right provides scale and animates the scene. Good use of a wide angled lens and placement of the verticals centrally. Excellent sharpness and framing. Tfs!

Hi Mariusz,
Nice architecture style and a well made photo and presentation, good choice for a vertical format, nice sunlight and colors contrast with blue sky and these colorful flowers on the right side, tfs.

Hi Mariusz
There seems to be a bit of a pick up in activity on TE recently so here's hoping.
A good one from you archives and in better weather than your recent Madeira ones. Great colour and detail in this impressive church.
cheers

Hi Mariusz.
Wonderful vertical composition of the superb Batalha monastery, we can recreate ourselves with one of its facades, the large window above it, which is sure to keep a magnificent stained glass window, graceful ending with those pinnacles.
The pretty oleander embellishes the photo with its beautiful flowers.
Very nice coloring in very effective tones.
Good brightness management and magnificent sharpness.
Magnificent image. My congratulations.
All the best and have a good day.
Luis.

Hello Mariusz,
It is an elegant edifice, but it need a power-wash or something. I like the inclusion of that flowering bush/tree.
Regards,
MT
