Photographer's Note
A traditional form of public transport in Lisbon is the tram. Introduced in the 19th century, the trams were originally imported from the USA, rarely called the americanos. The earliest trams can still be seen in the Museu da Carris (the Public Transport Museum) (Carris). Other than on the modern Line 15, the Lisbon tramway system still employs small (four wheel) vehicles of a design dating from the early part of the twentieth century. These distinctive yellow trams are one of the tourist icons of modern Lisbon, and their size is well suited to the steep hills and narrow streets of the central city.

Hello Daniel,
A cleverly framed composition using the tram tracks to lead the viewer in toward the focal point offered by the tram. I like the lighting and overall atmosphere of the shot.

Daniel
A clever image, with interest on many levels.
You have caught the light on the tracks and cobbles well, the soft focus of the tram and cars adding intrigue in the background.
Good use of the bookmark format.

Bonjour Daniel,
Le point de vue très bas donne beaucoup de profondeur à l'image surtout lorsque l'on suit les rails au loin. J'aime beaucoup ces pavés mouillés qui reluisent.

Hi, Daniel,
Very interesting note and good illustration. Yes, this view reminds me the photos from San Francisco with trams. Outstanding contrast of the grey city and yellow wagon.
My congratulations!

Hi Daniel
this is a cracker of a shot! The squashed perspective amazingly effective at emphasising the curves and undulations, but it is the light and placement of the tram that makes this so special. That and your cropped presentation. One of your best! Love it!

Hi Daniel,
The way this tram track is visible in the different parts of the picture is very good! The way they reflect the light provide an interesting part of the composition. A very well observed motive!
Kind regards

Howdy Daniel,
Being a engineer, project analyst for California Department of Transportation, I am attracted to your historical electric trolley. The view is fine for the hilly track and stone foreground, then the trolley.
We had numerous electrical trolley systems in America but unfortunately they were replaced by originally cheap gasoline to power autos and buses. In the last couple of decades, many of our cities had a resurgence in electric buses and trains.
Good job,
Cheers,
Ray

Hello Daniel - This is a wonderful shot, I love the composition with the tracks leading so strongly into the image, textured and almost monochromatic; a super FG showing, together with the upper section of the shot, the relief of the street so well. The more distant view with the bright yellow tram and car lights is wonderfully atmospheric with the sunlight glinting off the rails. Warm regards rosemary

Hi Daniel. This is another one of your great photos. Through the portrait format results in a very special (narrowed) angle.

Hello Daniel,
you've composed and framed this charcteristic and fascinating urban view superbly. The shifting perspectives are marvellous and all the elements and textures we find along them are significant and attractive. I love the sense of depth and movement, the colours and the play of light and shadows all over the elegant narrow frame. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great evening,

San Francisco e Lisbona, diversi mezzi ma uguale "spot" visivo che associa particolari al luogo.
Molti rimpingono i tram .... me compreso ... e nessun mezzo in un "locale museo" dalla azienda locale . Prospettiva e contesto splendidi.

Good one! I like the format and the composition. Seems the hill gave you the chance to get a great composition. The tram is well placed and the wet pavement and rails are a perfect foreground. Good shot of Lisbon!
