Photo in the Sesimbra beach , I liked this moment with this background the fisherman and the family strolling by the sea, also a beautiful time with this magnificent sky.

Sesimbra’s coast has a unique diversity of landscapes, from which come some of the most beautiful beaches in the country. On its western coast, the territory is trimmed by Lagoa de Albufeira, a lagoon frequently visited by windsurf and kitesurf athletes. A little further south, next to Aldeia do Meco, there is the Moinho de Baixo beach, characterized by the wide extension of its sands. Travelling further along the coast, you will arrive at Rio da Prata, one of the first naturist beaches of the country, and, soon after, you will encounter Bicas beach, the place of choice of local surf-lovers. From that point on, the cliffs become higher and steeper, fostering small inlets, such as Foz and Lagosteiros, beaches that will impress you by their beauty and geological relevance. As you “turn around” Cabo Espichel, the south coast will reveal some small remote inlets, surrounded in mystery and pirate tales. Their exceptional geographical localization gives them a very unique singularity, translated into the beauty and immenseness of the landscape. Just before arriving at Sesimbra, a rock formation shaped as a horse’s head, marks one of the most beautiful beaches in the region – the Ribeiro do Cavalo. The access to this paradise can be made by boat or on foot, through a path on the hillside, for which you will have to be physically fit and familiar with the area. The effort needed for the walk is well compensated as soon as you reach the sand. If you follow the coast line, you will arrive at the Sesimbra bay, with its calm sea, where nautical and leisure activities go hand in hand with traditional fishing. To the west, the Praia do Ouro beach and, to East, the California beach are divided by the Santiago’s Fortress, a 17th century fort, which impressively demarcates the sandbank, the bay, and the village. Over the past few years, the Ouro and the California beaches, as well as the Moinho de Baixo beach, at Meco, have been awarded with the Blue Flag, an award that recognizes the best European beaches for their environmental quality and safety conditions, as well as for their support equipments and also for the promotion of environmental awareness activities.

Hola Gonçalo,
Fantástico cielo e imponente ese mar bravo que bate la arena de la playa. Los pescadores aprovechan la ocasión...aquí hay una frase que dice: "a río revuelto, ganancia de pescadores", esto también se puede aplicar al mar, aunque también tiene otro sentido que nada tiene que ver con la pesca.
Bella perspectiva y composición y excelente contraste de colores.

it compliments the tall fishing poles in the bg.
also, the footsteps give so much textures and forms..unique feature.

No wonder you liked it, the shot has a most intense 3D effect, seeming to emanate from my desk top! The textured footprints make a strong lead towards the fisherman and the family, whilst the inclusion of the f/g rock, helps to give this great sense of depth.

Hello Goncalo - There is a great feeling of movement in this image, created, I think, by the footprints in the sand. They lead the eye perfectly to the fisherman. The clouds have also been really well captured and they add to the dynamism of the shot. Very nice indeed. Best regards Rosemary

Hi Goncalo,

The presence of the people on the beach has an effect of scale. The point of view is sending my eyes toward the fisherman then toward the horizon which is giving depth to the composition. There is a good contrast between the colors of the sea and the colors of the beach. Have a nice day.

I like this composition very much with the peaceful, expansive beach, and the few inhabitants of he beach — a fisherman, an adult with a dog and child. Even in February it seems very pleasant on the beach.
