Photographer's Note
I spotted these tourists waiting for a funicular tram in Bairro Alta yesterday morning. I don’t know whether they had noticed the graffiti on the wall behind them, but they didn’t look to me like your stereotypical terrorists.
Although the last three letters are being blocked by the two people on the right, they had already been covered by posters pasted on the wall, so perhaps “tourists are terror” is a more appropriate phrase for the people of the Bairro Alta and other parts of Lisbon’s old town. People living there go about their daily lives seemingly oblivious to the hordes of tourists swarming through the narrow streets with cameras slung around their necks, but it might be trying for them sometimes, especially when you see some tourists peering into their doorways and windows, as if they were on show for the tourists.
PP: Adjusted levels, increased contrast +10 and USM at 200%.

We cannot overlook the danger from these tourist terrorists. See the lady at left preparing to take a picture, without regard for the consequences to human life? She is willing to do that because she believes 72 virgins await her, and if not, well, at least maybe 72 green smiley points on TE.
Nicely framed photo, with the people strung out so that they are all visible in their tourist-like poses. Regards, Ken.

Very funny juxtaposition David.
I guess we are all terrorist then.
I like the way you have included the cobble stone side walk... it's very 'Portugal.'

A very funny scene that you got here, David. I'm glad that you had fun at one of the most enchanting places of Lisbon. I also can see that you manage to get active here, with all the trips that you have at the same time. The composition is very good and I like the general soft beije color tones. Also, a very apropriate image for now a day world's concerns :)
See you tomorrow,
Ricardo

I wouldn't trust them David, with a wooden cane.. Oooops! That lady, first in line...?
They all try to camouflage themselves as a somebody else. You want some samples? That figure in the middle..? Is it him or her?
And the guy next to...That thing slung down from his neck, eh???? And what is he smiling about?
We have to be vigilant, David.
I'm going to check my wife's passport one more time.
You never can be too cautious about those things, right?
Thanks buddy for remaining.
And you have a wonderful day for yourself.
Just stay alert.
g.
PS: The TE members...?
Do you REALLY know them..? (:-)))

Nice photo - and interesting story. I think that isn´t only a problem of Portugal ... I´ve noticed the same (locals who serve as attraction for crowds of tourists) also in Turkey, Greece - and even in our Austrian Alpes.

Hello David. It is beautiful, if one has again and again something to smile. Over the classical tourists or are surprised above all the native ones laugh. Tourists are terrorists, that are new me. They are fastidious, but rather harmless. A photo with much humor. It pleases me very well. Best regards, Wolfgang.
