Sshhh!!! Nobody Move, a photo from Algarve, South

Photographer's Note

Sshhhh, don't give away our secret...I like how this cove is enjoying the beautiful sun and colours, while the boat on the top left is whizzing by (unaware of the beauty just inside those rocks). Probably the most beautiful place I visited on my recent trip to Portugal and Spain. This is known as the Ponte Da Piedade in Lagos.

You can go right down to the boats, and pay 10 euros for a one hour trip around all the cliffs. Definitely worthwhile, as the colours are unbelievable. I couldn't have asked for a better day, with sunlight all day.

This is also my first photo where I added a frame, does it add to it? Also, increased contrast slightly. Let me know.

Impressive pov and colors...
The contrast between brown and blue tones is really OK.
And the boats provide scale.

David this is an awesome place. The clarity of your picture and the superb saturation make this such a pleasant scene to enjoy. Good contrast and use of light but is the point of view that truly attracts me. Excellent capture.

Hi David,

Wow! This is going right into my favourites. Great colours and contrast. Good POV. Terrific management of the light. Informative note as well.

Two things in my opinion could have been cropped out.

1. The cliff on the left side and
2. The stretch of grass.

Understand that it could be deliberate also. However, do find attached a workshop.

Another really good cove shot. Love the colors. I think I would have cut out the little portion of rock sticking in on the left side and maybe cloned out the speedboat and trail in the background. Still great work though.

Hi David,
I guess the water with the beautiful and attractive shades of blues hold my attention. I particularly enjoyed the eye flow in this composition with the speeding boats bringing us into the shot and the arrangement of the other boats giving us a feeling of leisure peace enclosed within the rocks. There is good clarity (thanks to the fine weather)and you managed the lighting well. Have a nice day.

David,
what a majestic view! I'm in awe and speechless ... I just can imagine what a day you must have had. For improvement of the shot you should either close the shutter by 1 or 2 stops or some additional PP to decrease the slight overexposure that are in certai parts of the image.
