Photographer's Note
Due to its low altitudes, Porto Santo is exposed to the wind from all sides.
To profit from this feature, there are aero generators installed…
In this exposure I want (had) to use a slow shutter speed to give the idea of a over speed rotation of the generator blades… (1/6 s) seems to me enough... With slower shutter speeds I found no way to avoid over exposition even with the max EV compensation..
In order to achieve this effect I set the shutter speed and used the car top as a “tripod”.. now...
the aperture had to be the smallest possible...
my cam gives me at min (max f/stop) f40... in fact the light was too strong a summer bright day.... 14:54 and I had an opened sky…
I used the max exposure compensation the camera was able.. -5,0 EV..
et "voilat"...
I hope you like it.

Helo Rui
The most important thing is that you have see this fast rotating and is not always posible to show thing how they are
Exellent

Interesting use of slow shutter speed.
Getting long exposure during daylight is always difficult. I wish some day cameras will have ISO 25 or ISO 10 and it will become easier. One more thing that can help is polarizing filter that filters out about half of available light.
Maybe it would be better to have vertical frame, because the generator pole is vertical. But with car roof used as a tripod it was probably impossible.

Good discussion in how to achieve a slow shutter exposure with such intense light. F/40? WOW, I didn't know that our camera has this ability. Interesting, I will have to look into that with detail. There were several moments that I tried to get a slow shutter with intense light. My secret is using circular polarizing filter + ND filter.
How about placing the wind mill more to the right, slightly off center?

Hi Rui,
surely one of the most original shot I've seen of aero generators. Good frontal POV, impressive effect by the blurriness.
Well done!

Ola Rui,
Lot's of technical details, but the outcome had been a fine photo inspite of the propelor's speed.
Wind-power was in use many years before electricity - and it is our planet "green" future's.
Regards
Ike
