Făgăraș Citadel

This is the citadel in the town of Făgăraș, which is located close to the geographical centre of Romania. The citadel (called Cetatea Făgărașului in Romanian) was constructed in the early 14th century at the site of an earlier fortification. It is now a museum, although it is being renovated as well at the moment.

Hej Lars,
Det syns att restaurering pågår, och att det kanske behövdes, men det lite slitna intrycket gör snarast det här pampiga slottet ännu mer fantasieggande. Fast taken är knappast från 1300-talet. Det är en vältagen bild från en bra vinkel med fina speglingar i vallgraven.

this castle has curious shapes and the red roofs created a special style too. the ramparts aren't so high and I liked the blue of sky reflected in the waters. excellent. TFS this place.

Hallo Lars,
We kunnen duidelijk zien dat er werken in uitvoering zijn. Doch ze waren op dat ogenblik nog niet van die aard dat ze storend waren voor het zicht op de citadel.
Een groot en indrukwekkend fort dat je vanuit een goede hoek toont.
De heldere weerspiegelingen in het water geven een bonus aan de mooie foto.

The reflection really makes this shot stand out, and the variety of colours is lovely.

I am so pleased to learn that this Medieval Citadel is being used as a museum! What a perfect use to keep the building used and visited by lots of people!
You have chosen a very good aspect so that the fine detail of the citadel are wonderfully captured in the photograph, with the added details in the reflection giving colour and interest to the f/g.

Very interesting fortress, I don't recall ever seeing it before.
You had such a lovely weather over there with the fantastic colors. The sky has charming little clouds and the red roofs add yet another vibrant color.
The point of view allowed the nice reflection in the foreground.
