Photographer's Note

It was dark and gloomy inside the Monastery so some parts are underexposed and other parts are overexposed. But you still get a reasonable idea of the colourful frescoes decorating the interior walls and ceilings of this former nun's convent. 'Stavro' is Greek for 'Cross' and polis is Greek for city. So city of crosses. Bucharest had many churches and still does. Despite the Soviets demolishing some, many basilicas, churches, cathedrals & monasteries still remain.

It was not the easiest place for taking photos, but you managed a clear picture where we get a good view of the fantastic paintings. It's an impressive but very uncomfortable art gallery.

Hello Chris,
Looking at the ceiling will cause fewer problems than standing with your back to the altar.
Focusing your eyes on Heaven is of course always good and trying to make a photo of the Lord is also possible. Especially when one of his creations is a beautiful painted on the ceiling. Excellent work

In regards to wallpaintings, Romania is a real treasure.
This capture is a topclass one with its perfect pov and ligth management as well as sharpness.

Hello Chris,

It would have been a calamity if this had been demolished for it is utterly beautiful and a fine example of religious, fresco decorations. The colours and the details are still of a fine quality.

I think that your picture is very well.
Gloomy in high ceillings is always present through the distance.

Not sure if you brightened the shot with photoshop, but it certainly looks great, we would never know its dark or underexposed. the blues, yellows and occasional reds really do blend well together. Its a sweet subject, vibrant in color and eye catching. nice one. cheers
