Photographer's Note

A neoclassical building I spotted in Bucharest with Ionic Greco-Roman columns at its portal. On the domed, circular roof are lyre designs.

"The Romanian Athenaeum (Atheneul Roman) is a concert hall in the centre of Bucharest, Romania and a landmark of the Romanian capital city. Opened in 1888, the ornate, domed, circular building is the city's main concert hall and home of the "George Enescu" Philharmonic and of the George Enescu annual international music festival." In front of the building is a statue of Romanian poet Mihai Eminescu.

Bonsoir Chris,

La statue attire le regard. La prise de vue permet de voir les détails de l'Athénée Roumain. La lumière met en valeur les couleurs de l'image. Bonne soirée.

Hello Chris, Elegant view of this building in Bucharest. I was on Bucharest in 1958 and this is the only place I remember well. Shame I have no photos :(. Excellent presentation.

Hello Chris,
I don't remember if I saw this building, but I suppose I did if it is such a landmark of the city. It's already quite many years since I saw the center of Bucharest. The roof is really beautiful and the warm light of late afternoon has given the colours a fine natural saturation.

Chris, the building reminds a Roman temple. The heavy dome is supported by thick columns. A statue is placed at its entrance. The garden around the concert hall is well maintained, attractive red flowers bed.

Hello Chris,
While the lower section of the concert hall is in the shade, a beautiful light makes the upper part look very beautiful.
Pretty also with the red flowers that adorn the foregound and with some plants that are trimmed in a peculiar shape.
