Photographer's Note

This is HDRuin, revisited.See my gallery for another look at this interesting ruin-a Victorian design greenhouse in the Bucharest Botanical Gardens. The old "wing" is in a desperate state of disrepair but somehow shows its nostalgic beauty. Repairs and renovations are started on the newer wing but I am afraid simply replacing everything with modern plastic and glass window pane just breaks all the elegance and effect of this little wonder.. so here's a reminder before it vanishes.. As is now it still functions and houses small leafy plants, and on the center some rather tall arboreal cacti that really look interesting (the stuff you see in westerns, taller than a person and full of spiky arms and stuff)and palm trees .
Technical notes: this is taken with the troubled travel megazoom Sony Hx60. They don't make'em like they used to- this camera broke in the first year of ownership and had to go for extensive repairs replacing all of its zoom mechanism and lens. The new not like the old one. Not as sharp and very prone to internal reflections- but sturdier mechanically.Auto-focus became slower after the repair..still works poor thing and I still occasionally carry it around. "Very stylish" in its leatherette casing as my wife reminds me, but after tasting the pleasures of mirrorless now she agrees it is slow and not as fun without the "bomb sight" -yes, the affectionate name for the viewfinder..
