Photographer's Note

Early autumn sun is reflected on old style apartment blocks in Bucharest. The soft and warm light gilds the old concrete and masonry front of the building and leaves the impression of a faraway place and time... Just moments ago I looked up and I am transported in a idealized version of the 70s where people were exuberant and shapes were daring..the sunlight soft and all ideas fresh and new ... Did you ever experience a flash of when suddenly looking at mundane objects in certain special light or circumstance you are able to see beyond its present reality and peek into the concept, the ideal shape and feel their inherent beauty? I recently did- and there I was, awestruck in front of an otherwise ordinary building- that in this light, in this day and at this special golden hour just showed its revolutionary shape (for its time, the 70s)and I could somehow feel the architects vision for the future, his/her hopes for a better tomorrow, their dream cast in stone..
