The Pelisor Castle, a photo from Prahova, East

Photographer's Note

I was quitesurprised to see that there are tons of photos of the Peles Castle in Sinaia and none of the Pelisor (meaning Little Peles) Castle, just 50 meters away from it.

The Pelisor was built between 1899-1902 for the future King of Romania: Ferdinand I. It is smaller than the palace of King Carol I and much more alive (or at least this is how I see it). The future queen, Mary of Edinburgh, decorated it mainly in the Art Nouveau style, with some Celtic and even Byzantine influences (the Celtic cross was a symbol very dear to the Queen).

PS: Some "genius" decided to put a mailbox there and ruin the setting.

What a great shot! Romania seems to have amazing architecture and you’ve captured it very nicely. Superb!

Superba ipostaza a Pelisorului !
Ai dreptate, numai un "geniu" putea sa puna cutia aia postala ...
Oricum poza este reusita si imi place POV-ul.

Prin comentariul lui Andre de mai sus ...realizam care e de fapt spiritul acestui minunat site !Sa admiram si sa intelegem lumea in care traim ...si Romania are ce arata, nu-i asa?Se vede si in aceasta fotografie a ta !
