View of Liars Bridge and old city

Liars Bridge or Bridge of Lies in Lesser Square , erected in 1859.

There are some legends to the bridge: Crossed by a liar the bridge is said to start quaking, and cheating merchants were supposedly thrown off the bridge.

Originally, the bridge was made of wood. About 200 years later, in 1859, the Bridge of Lies was rebuilt, being the first cast iron bridge in Romania. The pedestrian bridge built over the street Ocnei connects the Lower Town to the Upper Town. Eleven years ago, the Bridge of Lies has been included on the historical monuments in the county of Sibiu and is a true symbol of the former European Capital of Culture.

The presence of the persons is adding life to the scene. The point of view is showing the details of the bridge and of the buildings. The light has agood effect on the colors. Have a nice day.

the bridge is the main focal point of your photo and your note, but its very small comparison wise, in the scene. still, its a great story about liars being thrown off of it haha. I also enjoy the rustic exterior building in the far bg in green, and the fake exterior of the yellow building on the left. fun shot and fun subjects. cheers

cxześc Piotrze, Fajny widok z góry na ten słynny most. Śliczne kamieniczki i dachy.
Znalazłam jeszcze takie legendy o tym moście:

The Casanova myth. The Bridge of Lies supposedly earned its name because it was a meeting place for first dates. Cadets from the military academy would meet girls and make promises which they never intended to keep. So be aware of the promises you hear, when walking on this bridge!
The horror story. Similarly to the previous legend: the young ladies in search of husbands would declare their love and swear to their virginity on the bridge. If, in the wedding night, it turned out that they lied, the brides would be thrown from the bridge as punishment.

I really like the vantage point from which you took this photo. It shows the street, the façades and the bridge all so well in a well-balanced composition. The curves of the road add dynamism to the shot.

The curves of the street and the pavements create a nice composition and the small bridge is a fine focal-point. From this high vantage point we clearly see how the elegant upper city changes into the gritty lower city. I enjoyed both parts, but for different reasons. I like the tight composition.

Hello Piotr, the old footbridge is adorned with red flowers. It was built centuries ago in Sibiu historical district. Nice roofs details. Fine colors, good image quality, instructive photo note, regards.

What an excellent viewpoint, from which you have been able to show the very attractive buildings and how they have been built above the road.
We can follow the sinus curves of the road and see how it it is crossed by a pretty, useful bridge.
An excellent presentation, sharp and colourful.

The three liars on the bridge makes a sound base to the compo - you have them spot on. Indeed an appealing old town scene and thanks to the notes. You high vantage point allows ones eye to wander round the image but my eye keeps getting pulled back to the curvy lines and those figs. I love the mix of old and newly painted buildings, vivid in detail which convey that feeling of space and location. Good vision and pleasantly captured, Congrats

Great pov & framing, with that road bending, curving down. I also like the few pedestrians in the scene (no cars, always good news) and I also like the soft colours. In the back we discover those typical eye-windows. Great to see them in context.

I remember this spot but could not find a good shooting angle. I like the sweeping curve of the street here and the flower bedecked bridge makes a good focal point. The people provide scale. Tfs!

This is a beautiful view, and it shows so much lovely architecture. of course the story of the small bridge is interesting, too, and I like how a couple of people are standing on the bridge and looking down on the street below, but I am fascinated by the buildings, too. The one with the faded green paint isn't as well-kept as the other buildings, but it really grabs my attention. I like all the traditional roofs, too.
