Profi City Store, a photo from Timis, West

Photographer's Note

Opposite the Continental Hotel was this elegant but decaying old building, now under scaffolding. A quick search found the address as Boulevarde Revolutiei nr 7, with the Profi City Department store chain listed as the current occupant. The street at right is Strada Hector. They sell groceries and have a restaurant there popular with students. I have no idea of the history of this building. It is not mentioned as a noteworthy building in this list:

Hello Chris,
There were so many quite magnificent old buildings in Timisoara, too many showing the same decay as this, so I couldn't possibly remember this one particularly. But it must have looked great, and it still does in spite of cracking plaster. The good light and nicely managed colors make the most of it.

Hello Chris, this building might be in need of some TLC but it still merits a shot, and despite the flaking paint we see an impressive facade.
The blue sky is a lovely background and contrasts well with the yellow tones.

It is a beautiful part of the city that you show here, the building is wonderful with lots of fine details and the green trees add a nice contrast with the yellow walls. The sunlight was perfect as well.

Stylish old house with interesting color. The colors are so well polarized with the sky so perfectly blue. With such a sky the other buildings appear so colorful as well.
