Kaljaja (aka Prizren Fortress) was expanded in the 14th century. Much more of it was standing 100 years ago; however, much of it was blown up during the more recent troubled times.

It was a tranquil and magical place to visit, even in ruins. Long before the fortress, this would have been a sacred place and there is no doubt of this when you are there - it is something that is sensed.
