Photographer's Note
There was not much efforts needed to make this picture. I didn't 'make' or 'catch' it. It caught me. I just released the shutter and knew immediately that I will not through it away. Sometimes these things go spontaneously, sometimes I 'dance' around a lot trying to 'get something' (or more often nothing).
The mountain is named Mt. Bavski grintavec, 2445 m high, a beautiful but nasty object of aspiration in east Julian Alps. Very crumbly rock and about 2000 m higher than any possible hiking starting point from which you can 'attack' it.
Scanned by Nikon CoolScan ED-IV. Cropped. Three masks made - sky, mountain and forest. Each part adjusted using Curves. The sky blurred with Gaussian blurr, 2 pix radius at 4.000 pix picture width. Resampled to 800 pix width. Mountain and forest sharpened using Unsarp mask, level 65, 1 pix radius. Hand burning and dogging with brightness and contrast brush here and there. JPEG level 33 (Corel PhotoPaint 7 notation).

This has a really great feeling of depth - which makes for a superior landscape in my view. You have composed very well, and I like the autumnal colors in the forest which help separate it from the other subjects.

Wonderful landscape, the colors and contrast are amazing, especially the mountain in the background. Well seen!

Ronners is spot on. The depth in your photo is superb. It's the misty air and the trees running from the foreground to the background that make it so. And the fantastic sky. I love the contrast between the autumnal colours in the foreground and the wintery ones in the background. Stunning shot!
The spontaneous ones are always the best, when your emotions are fresh!

It's incredible that so rich and attractive pic it's composed just with the three elements: cloudy sky, snowy mountain and the forest. All together makes the beautiful composition. I'm sure that it's not easy positioning all the elements in the right dimension.

Excellent landscape picture. The clouds give a great feeling of depth. I imagine that the use of the polarizer had been extremely beneficial here. Really well done.
