Embracing winter, a photo from Posocje, West

Photographer's Note

A small detail of mini-landscape in early winter in Julian Alps. On the way to Kranjska Planina below Mt. Prisojnik wading the first snow this year. Autumn grasses haven't yet given up but cold winds will soon be victorious and all what will remain will be glittering of ice crystals.

Scanned by Nikon CoolScann ED-IV. Cropped, contrast controlled using Curves, color temperature of shaded areas corrected toward warm. Resampled to smaller dimension. Sharpened using Unsharp mask, level 75, 1 pix radius.

This is a nice phot. I like the shadows and the grass. It adds intrest to the photo. Colours are well balanced as well.

Beautiful picture. I really like the light in the shaded areas and the contrast with the remaining grass stems. Nicely captured.

Nice winter landscape, beautiful colours, the golden of the straws add immensely to the picture. You have a fairly large amount of scanning impurities which I tried to clone out - only to discover you haven't enabled workshop. If you want to see it, you have to enable that feature ;-).

Very nice play of light and shadows,both on the snow and the grass stems.It almost looks like something you might see while snowshoeing under a bright full moon.

You can hire a helicopter and take photo's of the polar cap or you can make equally spectacular pic's photographing the ground beneath your feet. The latter is surely the more demanding photography-wise, but you show us how to do it here! The composition is superb and so is the light.
