Museum of Fine Arts, a photo from Cordoba, Andalucia

Photographer's Note

A partial view of the Museum of Fine Arts in Cordoba; it stands on the Plaza del Potro which formed my previous presentation in this series from Cordoba, you might have caught a glimpse of it in the background. The museum founded in 1844 is located in the former Hospital of the Charity, which also houses the Museum Julio Romero de Torres. The museum was declared as a Cultural Heritage Monument in 1962.

Plaza del Potro is located in the the district of the Axerquia in the city of Cordoba, Southern Spain. It gets its name from the Renaissance fountain in the middle, whose main decorative feature is the figure of a potro (colt).

Hello Stephen,

This is a very nicely composed photograph to give a symmetry to the two, linked arches.
I'm sure Krzysztof will love this as it is so much in the style that he loves.
You have captured the details extremely well and the natural colours.
The ornate gateway, leading to the door is most interesting.
I would imagine that there was once a most attractive, maybe stained glass, window in the other arch.

Salut Stephen,

It seems you enjoyed Cordoba as much as I did. For sure it offers a wealth of photographic subjects and the real life scenes lived up to all the hype. That's not always the case.
Nice symmetry of these arches with good sharpness. Tfs

Les arches cadrent bien l'entrée. La prise de vue permet de voir les détails des grilles et de la porte. La bonne luminosité fait ressortir les couleurs. Bonne journée.

Quand les portes sont fermées à cet endroit, c'est à double tour et avec les grilles en plus.La lumière était forte et tu as bien su gérer.

The museum building itself has already some very nice details on its façade to offer. Excellent sharpness. I like the warm tones and the nice effect that the roof tiles create.
